How to Look Good Naked

I should've post this last October when I give the book to a special bestest friend during my birthday weekend. But anyhow, it's never too late to post anything in here right?

For those of you in the UK, you might've heard about the show on Channel 4 called 'How to Look Good Naked'. The show hosted by the stylist, Gok Wan, which is more to self-help + styling tips + wardrobe makeover + cheeky photoshoots, all roll into one. It's for women, though sometimes once in a blue moon Gok also featured some dude that need help in term of perking up their styles. The show is actually originated from the book with the same title: How to Look Good Naked.

I know the title is so ever provocative due to its 'naked' word in it. But, there's nothing vulgar nudity ever present in the book nor in the show. Okay... maybe there is. A slight one, but it's not vulgar - all very tasteful nude shot that shows only a little flesh-bearing plus-size ladies by which no 'ehem ehem ehem' ever shown to the viewing public. Only the side of the torso, which is why it looks more Patrick Demarchelier than a Hugh Hefner.

Btw, the book is basically for the ladies - esp the plus-size one - that gives tips on how to look good inside out. Not only from the way they dress up to suit their body types (apple, pear, guitar-shaped, etc..etc), but also how to make you look good from the inside too. From the proper dieting, taking care of the skin, taking care of the bodies - it's really helps to bring out the old, frumpy, non-stylish cheeky girls into a vavavoom femme fatale! The book has lots of pictures (no, not naked!) to show the way the ladies to dress for the occasion. If you watch the show itself on tele (or maybe now it's available on YouTube) there're more going on to it esp the fears and tears of the ladies who undergo the experiences.

I actually gave this book to a good friend in our exchange of gifts during the previous breakfast date at Hotel Maya. I didn't tell her what it is coz it's gift-wrapped nicely in a black shimmer chic wrapper - yet later during the day I got a text message how she LOVE the gift so much. I just wish she would take something out of it and bring herself into a new level of style: a femme fatale style regardless of what body types she has. I think it's time to break out the old mould and move into a new one, my dear! :)

So, how to look good naked? The best comment I hear is : when the light's switched off. Ngggg....
